Apple revised its set of podcast categories for iTMS and is asking podcasters to update their feeds within the next few months. If you want your podcast to be easy for iTunes users to find, set up your feed with Apple’s categories in mind.

Apple says they capture up to 3 category+subcategory pairs and use all of them to populate the browse lists in iTMS. But the first one will be the one displayed on your podcast page.

Apple lists the new categories in their Technical Specification, but I reprinted them here as a cheat sheet for people learning vlogging at Phoenix NODE101 events.
